About CLAT Exam

CLAT Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The CLAT exam consists of 150 MCQ questions that must be completed within two hours. The questions are divided into five sections: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques.

 

The English Language section tests a candidates English comprehension and grammar proficiency. This section includes passages of around 450 words each followed by questions based on the passage.

 

The Current Affairs, including the General Knowledge section tests a candidates knowledge of current events and general awareness. This section includes passages of around 450 words each, followed by questions based on the passage.

 

The Legal Reasoning section tests a candidate’s ability to apply legal principles to factual situations. This section includes passages of around 450 words each, followed by questions based on the passage.

 

The Logical Reasoning section tests a candidate’s ability to identify patterns and relationships between concepts. This section includes questions based on logical sequences, syllogisms and analogies.

 

The Quantitative Techniques section tests a candidate’s ability to solve numerical problems. This section includes questions based on data interpretation, graphs and charts.
